In at least 3 paragraphs, write about you, your family, your hobbies, and/or anything you would like to share. Feel free to add pictures, videos, etc. This section should be about your personal biography. Your learning goals and what  you hope and expect to achieve while at Hostos should be included  in the section entitled “My Learning.”

As your e-Portfolio is a public document, you should have your best work on display. Your e-Portfolio should also be completely free from error. That means you should use correct English sentence structure and grammar, as well as making sure you do not have any spelling errors.

Also, because your e-Portfolio is a public document your photos, videos, pictures, etc., should be appropriate and not show you in any compromising poses or inappropriate situations.  Descriptions of your hobbies, personal activities and interests should also be appropriate.  (For example, do not tell people that you like to go out partying and clubbing with your friends every weekend, even if this is the case!) A good rule of thumb is that if you would be embarrassed to show it your grandmother, do not include it!

Finally, do not provide personal information such as addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses (other than your Hostos e-mail address) that could be used by others to find you.

We realize that some of the above information may be overly cautious.  However, you must remain aware of the potential problems that can arise when you put information about yourself on the internet.

Do not hesitate to ask for any guidance as you put your e-Portfolio together.
