Welcome to your new e-Portfolio Page

This is the first page that any future readers of your e-Portfolio will see. Thus, we suggest that, along with a photo of yourself, you include the following basic information:

  • Your Name
  • Your Current Area of Study
  • Your Ultimate Area of Interest
  • The Date of Your Initial Enrollment at Hostos
  • Expected Date of Graduation

Your are certainly welcome to add any other information you think important and/or relevant, such as a brief description of who you are, your country of birth and/or your current NYC borough of residence.  Don’t forget you will get a chance to expand on what you put in this section and to tell visitors more about yourself in the “About Me” page of the e-Portfolio.

In addition, you should also include here a brief welcome statement, where you may want to address your reasons and your goals for developing your e-Portfolio, and explain what the e-Portfolio means to you. Remember, you can always change what is in your welcome statement, as your perspectives and views change.

Once you are ready to input the above information, click on the “Edit” tab, and replace this entire set of instructions with your response.

And don’t forget to upload a photo!  You are reminded that your photo should be one that is serious and appropriate, since you do not know who will be viewing your e-Portfolio in the future.  A simple photo of you is sufficient.  Do NOT use photos of yourself in what some people might consider inappropriate poses or situations (e.g., in bathing suits, drinking alcohol, etc.).  You would not want a prospective employer to get the wrong impression of you.  All online activities contribute to your online reputation.  Be sure that your posts are helping to create a positive image that impresses others and represents your best self.
