ABOUT ME

I was born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Croix United States Virgin Islands (USVI). Ever since childhood my mother has been traveling from St. Croix to New York and Atlanta, so I am not a stranger to the United States of America. After all, the USVI is a territory of the Unites States. I previously lived in New York for one year with my father when I was eleven. I also lived in Atlanta Georgia for 2 years when I was fourteen. I enjoy living in the U.S because I am able to see the seasons change. The weather in St. Croix is always nice and hot. In my spare time I enjoy listening to and playing music, watching television, and writing poems. In 2005 I returned to New York to pursue a higher level of education.

Moreover, my experiences in college have been successful and rewarding, brought me happiness, and self actualization. Four years ago I did not know what I was capable of academically simply because in high school making good grades was not a priority for me. I graduated salutatorian of my high school class but there was no excitement about that achievement because I graduated from night school. My dedication to my studies in college and overcoming challenges has resulted in a GPA of 3.8 which granted me the opportunity to be a part of the Honors Program at Eugenio María de Hostos Community College. At this point I have realized that enrolling in college and seeking a higher level of education was the best decision I have made in my life. Knowledge is empowering and can never be taken away once aquired. The knowledge I have aquired from going to college has made me more aware of life and made me a better rounded individual.
